Just saw my first baby turtle of the year today. He was in the road and I picked him up. So tiny! I took him down to the edge of the marsh and put him in the water, and he quickly swam away.
I also saw my first baby Canadian geese this year! They were very small and so cute, swimming between their parents. They swam past another goose on the lookout on the edge of the marsh and he swooped past, neck out, beak open, in warning. He must've been guarding a nest! He then swam along, beak in the water, parallel to the family of geese as if to say, don't go past this line! This is my territory! The parents kept dipping their heads, warning the threatening goose to keep away.
